Anomic – Thrash/Death Metal From Amsterdam That Hits Like a Brick!

Formed in August 2023, this Amsterdam-based beast has already forged a lineup that’s equal parts international swagger and pure aggression. Fronted by Raafat “Raaf” Atasi on guitar and vocals, with Fadi Massamiri growling from the bass, and backed by drumming legend Krzysztof Klingbein (Belphegor, Vader, Hate), Anomic’s sound is both precise and punishing. Add Mo Alkanaan and Robin Boogaard to the mix, and the band’s sonic onslaught becomes unstoppable.

Their debut EP, “Opacity” (2024, Wormholedeath Records), is a straight-up slap to the face. Imagine thrash metal fueled by adrenaline colliding with death metal brutality, and then imagine it never letting up. Riffs cut like scalpels, drums thunder like a tank rolling through your living room, and vocals alternate between snarled thrash and guttural growls that make your spine tingle. This is not music you play quietly; it’s music that demands your attention and punishes your limits.

Tracks like “This Blood Is Mine” and “On Deaf Ears” don’t just hit, they're a sledgehammer, mixing relentless speed with tight, headbang-inducing precision. Every member knows their role, and every note hits with intent. There’s no filler, no fluff, just raw, unfiltered aggression served with technical mastery.

Anomic is gearing up for 2025–2026 shows to unleash this fury live, and with a new album already in the works, it’s clear this is a band on a mission: to carve a permanent scar in the modern thrash/death scene.
